Archibat Asia is looking for a Concept Designer for a US Carpet brand to join their Shanghai office,
Position Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to action project based design work within the Design Studio to inspire customers with unique and innovative design solutions, covering all areas of the customization and visualization of company product.
This position description does not form a comprehensive list of duties and can be varied or added to within the scope of the position and as discussed during the performance planning & review process (PPR).
Areas of Responsibility:
Process & Design Output
• Creates innovative product custom colour solutions.
• Creates conceptual 2D floor designs as well as detailed floorplan documentation for install.
• Visualizes product in both 2D and 3D outputs and creates clear and effective design presentations.
• Takes project from initial brief to completion, managing all design aspect of the project.
• Liaising directly with Account Managers and their customers.
• Manage the custom sampling process including quality control. Ensuring the correct checks and measures are followed and any foreseeable issue are discussed with production.
• Records design activity in the Studio database.
Communication & Collaboration
• Provides face to face and over the phone Concept Design consultation to current and prospective clients. Specifically, introducing clients to what the Design Studio can offer, taking design briefs and working through floor design and customization solutions with clients and presenting work.
• Contributes weekly to Studio meetings to share best practice, project success and workshops difficulties.
• Collaborates effectively with team members sharing skills and knowledge.
Market awareness
• Remains aware of current design activities and trends through continued research, design industry events, exhibitions, seminars and workshops.
• Understands and keeps abreast of who our competitors are and what products they have in the market.
Job Description
General
• Assists in department improvements projects such as updating the creative Image Bank, maintaining digital product libraries, setting up studio templates and maintaining archives.
• Assists in the launching of new products to Sales with 3D imagery and the creation of pallets.
• Creating 3D imagery for Marketing collateral when required.
• Assists in Marketing and Sales client engagement events when required.
• Creates floor designs for exhibitions and events as well as floor designs for different offices and showrooms.

Required profile
Qualifications and Experience required
• Design Degree qualification essential (Textile/Interior Design)
• 2-5 years industry experience is preferred
• Intermediate Computer skills
• 2 year professional experience in Adobe Creative Suite or higher essential
