Archibat HR Asia is looking for a Lead Designer for an Award Winning Hospitality Architecture and Interior Design firm, to be based in their Shanghai Office.

 

The client needs an experienced, client facing design lead with overall design development as well as execution experience.  Some of the key responsibilities are as below. 

 

Lead, Interior Designer is part of our international design studio team for designing luxury urban and resort hotel projects around the globe. You will take leadership on design projects and drive the combination of design and client strategies. You will oversee project deliverables and work closely with clients locally and internationally.

 

This role requires significant travel, thirty percent or more, a professional presentation style, articulative, creativity, good taste and good judgment.

Required profile

In Brief: 

+ Oversee and manage the development of design projects as project leader of the design team.

+ Work closely with Design Director, Studio Manager and Design Team to ensure project development, deliveries, quality, productivity for projects.

+ Lead and work on multiple luxury hospitality projects locally and internationally, and mentor team members across studios.

+ Provide design expertise and direction to the interior design team.

+ Foster close partnerships with clients and partners.

+ Oversee the growth and development of the interior design business, in partnership with Design Director and Studio Manager.

+ Actively participate in project meetings and clients presentations.

+ Quality control, review design documentation and schedule project team deliverables.

Key Requirements to Success:

+ Demonstrate success in luxury hospitality design projects.

+ Proven experience in design leadership, especially in leading and managing international teams & clients

+ Strong design skills and a representative portfolio of award-winning, international projects within the luxury hospitality sector.

+ Ability to thrive on working in a multi-cultural environment that calls for teamwork, initiative and excellence.

+ Thorough knowledge of interior production standards, detailing, building materials, building codes, and interior construction means and methods. 

+ 9 or more years of experience in interior design, particularly in the luxury hospitality sector (both urban and resort hotels). 

+ Excellent CAD, SketchUp and Photoshop skills, as well as excellent hand sketching ability.

+ Excellent articulation, communication and presentation abilities. 

+ Preferences on excellent communication in Mandarin and English (both written and verbal).

+ Ability to travel at least thirty percent.
