{"id":3645,"date":"2017-11-02T00:36:39","date_gmt":"2017-11-01T23:36:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.archibat.com\/blog\/en\/?p=3645"},"modified":"2018-12-06T17:47:39","modified_gmt":"2018-12-06T16:47:39","slug":"the-1000-trees-project-in-shangai","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archibat.com\/blog\/en\/the-1000-trees-project-in-shangai\/","title":{"rendered":"The 1000 Trees Project in Shanghai"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Back in 2015, Heathewick Studio\u2019s architects announced that they were working on a 300,000 square-meter project: now the construction works of this monumental and original building have finally begun.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3386\" src=\"https:\/\/www.archibat.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/631_NorthFacade_REVISED_2-1400x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1400\" height=\"1024\" \/><br \/>\nThe \u201c1000 Trees\u201d project is located\u00a0in\u00a0Moganshan Road next to Shanghai\u2019s famous arts district M50. In total, no less than 400 terraces will be built in order to make social interaction easier.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3385\" src=\"https:\/\/www.archibat.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/img_9_1501462055_755c4a16a4abb82a31c27947b13d5f56.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"818\" height=\"1227\" \/><br \/>\nFilmmakers \u201cDo not settle\u201d, who are architects and designers as well, have already released some videos and pictures revealing the vastness of the project.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3384\" src=\"https:\/\/www.archibat.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/img_8_1501462055_e21e9e44d18061e3cea628f5583bad7e.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"818\" height=\"545\" \/><br \/>\nThe main aim was to build a 300,000 square-meter mixed-use development in a residential area surrounded by concrete towers.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3383\" src=\"https:\/\/www.archibat.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/img_7_1501462055_7b32fff37fc6d64f55db936f7db15dd5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"818\" height=\"456\" \/><br \/>\nIntended to be a topographical element rather than a building, its structure symbolizes two tree-covered mountains with one thousand structural columns standing on them. Instead of hiding them, architects decided to let columns become the defining feature of the design.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3382\" src=\"https:\/\/www.archibat.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/img_6_1501462055_13e7ce27d877b12813a9e71bfc4ac3f2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"818\" height=\"488\" \/><br \/>\nSince the balconies face the river, the view will be amazing both on the waterside and on the skyline.
