La multiplication des expositions consacr\u00e9es \u00e0 Picasso peut donner l\u2019impression, \u00e0 un public familier des mus\u00e9es, de ne plus avoir grand chose \u00e0 d\u00e9couvrir sur cet artiste si incontournable du XX\u00e8me si\u00e8cle. Le visiteur traverse ainsi presque soixante dix ans de la production de Picasso en butinant d\u2019\u00e9poque en \u00e9poque. Un audioguide permet d\u2019\u00e9couter la musique en lien avec chaque chapitre. Il vit en Espagne entre Malaga et Barcelone jusqu\u2019en 1904, et s\u2019il rejoint les avants-garde parisiennes, il restera tr\u00e8s attach\u00e9 \u00e0 ses racines. Il repr\u00e9sente r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement des danseuses de flamenco ou encore les chanteurs gitans de Malaga pour \u00e9voquer la tradition espagnole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les sc\u00e8nes de cabarets barcelonais, lui permettent au contraire de s\u2019int\u00e9resser \u00e0 la modernit\u00e9 catalane. Lorsqu\u2019il s\u2019y installe d\u00e9finitivement en 1904, il choisit sciemment le quartier de Montmartre, fr\u00e9quent\u00e9 par de nombreux Catalans. Il m\u00e8ne une vie de boh\u00e8me entre tavernes, caf\u00e9-concerts et salles de spectacle. La musique est alors populaire; l\u2019accord\u00e9on, la guitare et les violons sont les instruments incontournables. Les croquis de danseuses de cancan rappellent ceux des artistes de la fin du XIX\u00e8me si\u00e8cle et \u00e9voquent cette m\u00eame ambiance frivole et survolt\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A cette \u00e9poque, Picasso fr\u00e9quente \u00e9galement le cirque M\u00e9drano. Un orchestre jouait pendant les num\u00e9ros des musiques \u00e0 la mode. La figure du saltimbanque s\u2019impose comme un alter-\u00e9go pour le peintre. Ils deviennent le sujet principal de l\u2019oeuvre. C\u2019est en s\u2019appuyant sur eux que Picasso va d\u00e9velopper son vocabulaire cubiste. De 1909 \u00e0 1915, il d\u00e9cline violons, guitares et mandolines sur tout support et gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 diff\u00e9rentes techniques pour atteindre l\u2019essence m\u00eame de ses th\u00e9ories cubistes. La mandoline est alors un instrument tr\u00e8s \u00e0 la mode. Si le violon s\u2019inscrit dans la tradition savante, il fait r\u00e9f\u00e9rence chez Picasso aux musiciens de rue ou de cirque et au Montmartre ouvrier. Picasso s\u2019amuse de ses arabesques et de ses ou\u00efes graphiques si reconnaissables pour tenter des repr\u00e9sentations quasiment illusionnistes. La guitare quant \u00e0 elle renvoie \u00e0 ses origines espagnoles; Picasso en appr\u00e9cie les courbes et exp\u00e9rimente le rendu du volume cubiste par ce biais. Il s\u2019amuse alors au concept d\u2019oeuvre total et signe le rideau de sc\u00e8ne, les costumes et les d\u00e9cors de plusieurs productions. Il c\u00f4toie et travaille avec les plus grands compositeurs, Erik Satie, Igor Stravinski ou Manuel de Falla. L\u2019exposition met en valeur plusieurs productions: <em>Parade, Pulcinella<\/em> et <em>Mercure<\/em> notamment. Picasso \u00e9tait tr\u00e8s proche de Guillaume Apollinaire. Le po\u00e8te pr\u00f4nait le lien fort entre musicalit\u00e9 et po\u00e9sie \u00e0 l\u2019instar des consid\u00e9rations antiques. Le peintre espagnol int\u00e8gre ces pr\u00e9ceptes. Il \u00e9crit des po\u00e8mes en fran\u00e7ais et en espagnol en jouant sur les allit\u00e9rations, \u00e0 la musicalit\u00e9 certaine. Son mariage avec Olga Khokhlova et sa fr\u00e9quentation des bals mondains de l\u2019entre-deux guerres, le plonge dans un environnement musical intense. Jean Cocteau est l\u2019un de ses amis proches, ainsi que le compositeur Francis Poulenc. De nombreux billets, affiches, invitations \u00e0 des spectacles sont rassembl\u00e9s. Les femmes nues, voluptueuses et sensuelles \u00e9voquent sa compagne du moment, Marie Th\u00e9r\u00e8se Walter. Au-del\u00e0 des oeuvres du ma\u00eetre espagnol, nous d\u00e9couvrons sa collection d\u2019instruments africains et europ\u00e9ens, des photographies d\u2019\u00e9poque, des c\u00e9ramiques, des costumes, des enregistrements, des cartes postales, des croquis, des invitations, \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le son, la musique, la m\u00e9lodie, le chant et voire m\u00eame la po\u00e9sie se retrouvent dans toute l\u2019oeuvre de Picasso.
