It is in Shanghai that we find these displays that seem to float in the air. Long 12 meters, it is the architect Junya Ishigami who has created custom-made display cantilevers during the design of the store dedicated to JINS glasses.
In this minimalist industrial space, with piping and ventilation on the ceiling, all in pristine white, the architect has kept the essentials so that the customer can focus all his attention on the products.
On one side there are three cantilevered concrete shelves and two shorter shelves for customer assistance, casting long shadows on the floor. In the style of the Apple Store, these volumes extend to two large windows that further expose the space to the light.
This project of the Japanese architect consist the first flagship of the brand in the Chinese metropolis. It is located in the Shanghai World Financial Center (SWFC).
The JINS brand often entrusts visual merchandising to artists and architects. For example, in the beginning of 2018, the British designer Jasper Morrison joined the brand to design and produce a new range of glasses.
