You’ve probably heard about MUJI, the Japanese minimalist lifestyle brand that offers a wide range of home goods, haven’t you? Well, it has just opened its first hotel in China, while another one is slated to open in Japan in 2019. Located in Shenzhen, the hotel has been designed by Japanese creative studio Super Potato on four floors housing the hotel, a store and a restaurant.

The hotel is located on the top two floors and comprises 79 rooms in 5 different layouts. All the rooms and the furnishings, including bed sheets, lamps and even toothbrushes, are designed by the brand and stay true to MUJI minimalism.

On the third floor a gym and a conference room provide guests with all modern comforts, while the store and the restaurant are located on the first and second floor.

As regards Tokyo, where MUJI’s head office is located, the hotel will be built in trendy Ginza District and will replace MUJI Yarakucho, which is currently the world’s largest store of the brand. The building will rise to a height of ten floors, six of them housing a retail space and the last four housing the rooms. Like its Chinese counterpart, all the rooms will be furnished with MUJI’s products. The hotel will open in spring 2019, about one year after its counterpart in Shenzhen.
