Archibat HR Asia is looking for a Junior FF&E Designer for a Global Award Winning Architecture Firm to be based in their Shanghai Branch.

Roles and Responsibilities

 

FF&E and materials selection and purchasing for all areas as identified to support architecture and interior design projects

Coordinate with Procurement to manage the purchasing of all FF&E using best-value and/or low bid public contracting.

Work with the client representatives, project architecture and interior design team, and Building User Groups to identify project scope, budget, schedule, and FF&E requirements.

Attend project meetings to work with project team including Project Architects, Project Managers, and contractors to ensure the preparation of accurate FF&E specification, furniture layouts, material choice and FF&E lists of both new and reuse of existing furniture.

Attend clients meeting if needed

Understand and have working knowledge of materials and products that will be used to create and furnish the space and how texture, colour, lighting and other factors combine and interact to make a space

Talented designer can work closely with the project team to formulate preliminary space plans and produce two- and three-dimensional design concepts that are functional, within budget and aesthetically pleasing

Understand the structural requirements of the plans, life safety issues, building codes and other technical aspects

Understand and have working knowledge of materials and products that will be used to create and furnish the space and how texture, colour, lighting and other factors combine and interact to make a space

Prepare working drawings and assist with specifications for interior construction, space planning, materials, finishes, furniture, furnishings, fixtures, equipment and millwork; create sample boards; knowledgeable in the areas of building construction, building materials, specifications, codes, technical drawing and business practices

 

Position Requirements

 

3-5 years of design industry experience as an FF&E Designer and Interior Designer; exposures to hospitality/commercial/office projects in Asia is preferred.

Experienced in initial design including Interior Design concept design & schematic design with strong technical skills (InDesign, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Microsoft Excel).

Understand the design process and able to comprehend the client’s needs and goals.

Well-developed time management and organizational skills required to undertake multiple projects or facets of various projects.

Strong team player with “Green Design” sense.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Chinese and English.

Bachelor’s degree in the areas of Architecture, Interior Design or related major is required.

Ability to read architectural and furniture drawings.

Previously working as an interior designer is a plus

Knowledge of furniture and material specifications and design and procurement.

Strong written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Attention to detail.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
