Archibat HR Asia is looking for a Product Designer for a Top Consumer Brand from US.
Location: Shanghai
Responsibilities
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Design innovative products and take the designs from concept through implementation.
Understand overall business category to offer more difference
Understand the consumer, especially in kitchen space, so that functional aspects can be considered along with aesthetic needs and cost objectives.
Support design work for global solutions and projects alongside with global team.
Monitor and maintain competitive landscape of the product category information for better user and product experience benchmarking.
Collaborate with rest of design team on wider programs if any.
Learn about a design-related area such as trends, color, materials/processes, or CAID.
Major Tasks
Work closely with all new product development departments, especially Engineering, Marketing, Purchasing, and Manufacturing, in a team atmosphere achieving new product design requirements.
Incubate new innovative ideas that is meaningful, gracious for our users.
Participate in new product development activities which include generation of new product concepts.
Determine appropriate approaches and execute design research, product concept drawings, physical modeling, and product presentations.
Develop new methods of physical modeling as appropriate to cost and timing factors.
Maintain current awareness of consumer competitor product offerings including product design trends globally.
Develop and maintain familiarity with materials and processes used in the industry and the manufacture of KITCHEN FAUCETS/SINK/APPLIANCES/CABINET/ACCESSORY.

Work in a product design space with prior experience in kitchen or electronics, have good understanding to issues related to hygiene. Good three-dimensional styling capability, communication

Supervisory Relationships
Reports to Design Manager – Global kitchen faucet & fixture
Organization Relationships
Works alongside ID, Engineering, Marketing, Communications, and Manufacturing in a team environment.
External Business Relationships
Occasional contact with design consultants.
Occasional contact with vendors and suppliers.
Attends industry trade show and seminars as needed to maintain awareness of competitor products, designs, and overall consumer product design trends.
Attends industrial design seminars and courses as necessary to maintain professional skills.
Education And Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university or college of design with academic emphasis on product design. Typically has 3-5 years of experience in electronics product design, CMF design, consumer research and/or other related field.
